When Ayesha Shroff’s film tanked leaving Jackie Shroff bankrupt; Tiger Shroff recalled how even his bed was sold: ‘I started sleeping on floor…’ | Bollywood News

When Tiger Shroff was 12, his mother Ayesha Shroff produced a film Boom. It was Katrina Kaif’s debut film and starred Amitabh Bachchan, Jackie Shroff, Gulshan Grover and Zeenat Aman in important roles. Despite a promising cast, the film tanked at the box office, leaving the Shroffs bankrupt. To pay off their debt, Jackie Shroff sold off their four-bedroom Bandra apartment and moved into a smaller apartment. It was at this time when a young Tiger had decided that one day, he would buy back his childhood home.
Recalling the hard time, Tiger Shroff told GQ in 2021, “I remember how our furniture was sold off, one one. My mother’s artwork, lamps… Things I’d grown up seeing around us started disappearing. Then my bed went. I started to sleep on the floor. It was the worst feeling of my life. I wanted to work at that age but I knew I could do nothing to help.”ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO
After making his debut with 2014 film Heropanti, Tiger had earned enough to buy back his childhood home in 2017. However, his parents who were touched his gesture preferred living in their rented house on Carter Road. Later, in 2021, Tiger gifted a grand 8 BHK apartment in Khar west area to his mother Ayesha Shroff, which became their new family abode they they own, and not rent.

In an interview with Rediff, Tiger shared, “I am just so grateful to the Lord that I am able to buy a house for my parents. This was on my to-do l even before I became an actor.”
Speaking to SCREEN, Jackie had shared his joy over his son’s achievement. He said, “Tiger dreamed of buying a house for his mother ever since he joined films. He kept working towards that dream. A child getting something for his mother is wonderful. He’s a very sweet and emotional guy.”
Now, according to Money Mint, Tiger Shroff has an estimated net worth of Rs 248 crore. Apart from films and ads, Tiger also earns from his production house Tiger Shroff Films as well as his chain of gyms, MMA Matrix. In 2018, the actor had also launched a fitness and lifestyle brand PROWL which delas with fitness clothing and accessories. According to Lifestyle Asia, the actor charges upto Rs 3 crore per endorsements and charges close to Rs 25 crore for a film.
