Iran says ‘no agreement’ yet, thanks armed forces for defending Israeli attacks until ‘very last minute’ | World News

Hours after US President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Iran agreed to a “complete and total” ceasefire, Iran’s foreign miner denied the claims, stating that there was no truce agreement between the two countries and that the final decision on the cessation will be made later.He further said that if Israel stops its “illegal aggression” early Tuesday morning, Iran would halt their attacks.
“As Iran has repeatedly made clear: Israel launched war on Iran, not the other way around. As of now, there is NO “agreement” on any ceasefire or cessation of military operations,” Iran’s Foreign Miner Abbas Araghchi said in a post on X.

“However, provided that the Israeli regime stops its illegal aggression against the Iranian people no later than 4 am Tehran time, we have no intention to continue our response afterwards. The final decision on the cessation of our military operations will be made later,” he added.

Later in another post, Araghchi went on to thank Iran’s armed forces for carrying out the military operations to “punish Israel for its aggression, continued until the very last minute”.
“Together with all Iranians, I thank our brave Armed Forces who remain ready to defend our dear country until their last drop of blood, and who responded to any attack the enemy until the very last minute,” he wrote.

Trump on ‘complete and total ceasefire’ between Israel and Iran
The US president on Monday (June 23) said that Israel and Iran have agreed to a “complete and total ceasefire”, that will be phased in over 24 hours.
His social media post announcing the truce came hours after Iran launched its retaliatory missile salvo targeting the US’ Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.
“It has been fully agreed and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL,” he wrote in a post on his Truth Social handle.Story continues below this ad
“On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, “THE 12 DAY WAR,”” he added.
The United States on Saturday (June 21), carried out ‘Operation Midnight Hammer’ against Iran, targeting its three key nuclear sites, Fordow, Isfahan and Natanz.
Trump said that the attack’s objective was the “destruction of Iran’s nuclear enrichment capacity and a stop to the nuclear threat posed the world’s number one state sponsor of terror. ”
