US preparing for possible strike on Iran amid Israel-Iran conflict: Report | World News

Senior US officials are reportedly preparing for a possible strike on Iran in the coming days amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran, Bloomberg reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the matter. The report added that the situation regarding the attack on Iran using American infrastructure is still evolving and is possible to change.
Washington is reportedly assembling its infrastructure in order to directly enter the conflict with Iran as Bloomberg report pointed out with a potential plan for a weekend strike. A person quoted in the report said top leaders at a handful of federal agencies have reportedly begun to get ready for the strike on Iran.

US President Donald Trump, while speaking to reporters outside the White House on Wednesday, declined to say whether he had made any decision to join Israel’s campaign of attacking Iran and halting its nuclear enrichment program. “I may do it. I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do,” Trump said.

The US president further added that he has “ideas as to what to do” and that he prefers to make the “final decision one second before it’s due” since the situation in the Middle East is still fluid and warrants a change at any given point of time. A White House official said that all the options for America remain on the table.

In a 360 degree reversal of his stance from urging diplomatic talks to reach a nuclear disarmament deal with Iran, President Trump has now come out in open talking about war while remaining indecisive regarding striking Iran’s nuclear enrichment sites.
The United States is reportedly planning a possible strike on Iran’s Fordo, which is an underground plant located about 96km (60 miles) south of Tehran, and is one of the two critical nuclear enrichment facilities significant for the Islamic country.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Wednesday issued a warning to the United States and Israel amid escalating regional tension, and declared that Iran would not accept any imposed resolution and wouldn’t yield to threats.Story continues below this ad
“Israel made a huge make and will be punished for that. People will not forget the blood of martyrs and the attack on their territory. Iran will not accept an imposed peace or war,” Khamenei said.
