‘Will quickly advance us to victory’: Israeli miner calls for ‘complete halt’ of Gaza aid | World News
Israel’s far-right national security miner Itamar Ben-Gvir on Thursday demanded a “complete halt” to the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza, alleging that Hamas is appropriating the supplies to sustain itself.
“The humanitarian aid currently entering Gaza is an absolute disgrace,” Ben-Gvir wrote on X. “What is needed in Gaza is not a temporary halt to the ‘humanitarian’ aid, but a complete halt to it.”
He said he would ask Prime Miner Benjamin Netanyahu to bring the issue back for a cabinet vote, after previously being the sole dissenting voice against allowing aid into Gaza.

“There were those who mocked me… and today what was known in advance is becoming clear: Hamas is taking control of the quantities of food and goods that contribute to its survival,” Ben-Gvir claimed. “Stopping the aid will quickly advance us to victory.”

Ben-Gvir’s remarks come as the humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate. Food scarcity remains acute after Israel imposed a full blockade during March and April, leaving Gaza’s 2.3 million residents at “critical risk of famine,” according to aid agencies.
Although Israel, as per report The Guardian, has since eased some restrictions, allowing limited UN aid convoys to enter, the UN and relief groups face major logical and security challenges. Rubble-blocked roads, ongoing Israeli military operations, and general lawlessness have hindered aid delivery. There have also been repeated incidents of violence near aid convoys, with civilians reportedly fired upon while seeking food.
