Perplexity Pro users can now make videos with audio: Here’s how | Technology News

Perplexity, the popular AI search engine that uses large language models from the likes of Anthropic, Google and OpenAI, is getting a new feature that lets users generate videos with accompanying audio.
In a post on LinkedIn, Perplexity CEO Aravind Srinivas said that the new feature is currently exclusive for Perplexity Pro and Max subscribers and that mobile users will have to update their app to the latest version for it to work.

How to use Perplexity’s new AI video generator?
To try Perplexity’s new AI-powered text-to-video generator, simply type in “Generate a video of” in the prompt box, followed your query.

When you hit the enter button, Perplexity will take anywhere between a minute to two to generate the video, which can be viewed in the app itself. Like Google’s Veo 3, videos generated Perplexity are 8 seconds in length.
Once generated, the video can be downloaded or shared with others tapping on the three-dot menu that appears on the bottom right of the video. It also has a ‘Report’ button that can be used to flag harmful or inappropriate content.

If you aren’t satisfied with the AI-generated video, tap on the three-dot button below the below and Perplexity will let you edit the query or flag it as unhelpful.
For those wondering, there are currently no options to bump up the resolution or make videos longer than eight seconds on the Pro plan. Perplexity says Max subscribers get “enhanced quality” without specifying the resolution, along with “higher rate limits”, which means they will be able to generate more videos than Pro users.Story continues below this ad
The new AI video generator feature comes more than a month after Pereplexity introduced the “Ask Perplexity” feature for X users, which allowed them to generate eight-second videos.
