ICC Women’s World Cup: Ticket prices for league matches in first phase kept a record low of Rs 100 | Cricket News
With the ICC Women’s World Cup just three weeks away, the International Cricket Council has released the ticketing details for the event which will be held in India and Sri Lanka. Tickets for all league matches in India which be played in Indore, Vizag, Guwahati and Mumbai has been kept at a record low of Rs 100 for the first phase of the games.
The Women’s 50-over World Cup is set to commence from September 30 with India taking on Sri Lanka in the opening fixture at Guwahati. M Chinnaswamy Stadium was originally supposed to host the opening fixture, but after Karnataka State Cricket Association couldn’t get necessary clearance from the local state government, their matches have been moved elsewhere with DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai added to the host venues.

With the tournament just weeks away, the ICC on Thursday shared the ticketing details for the event. “This year’s edition will also set a new benchmark in accessibility, with record low prices for any ICC global event. Tickets for all league matches in India are priced at just INR 100 (approx. USD 1.14) in the first phase. The fan-friendly pricing aims to ensure packed stadiums and enthusiastic crowds as the women’s game continues to grow in stature and global appeal,” the ICC said in a statement.

Google Pay will be bringing fans closer to the action with an exclusive pre-sale tickets access for fans.

Tickets for the went live on 7pm Thursday, with an exclusive four-day pre-sale window for GPay users via Tickets.cricketworldcup.com, running until 19:00 on Monday, 8 September. In the first phase, tickets for all round-robin league matches will be available for purchase, exclusively for Google Pay users. Fans can also reger interest for second phase (for all league matches), with ticket sales starting for the same on Tuesday, 9 September.
The second phase sale will go live on 20:00 on Tuesday, September 9. During this window, fans can purchase tickets at Tickets.cricketworldcup.com.
With India hosting the Women’s World Cup after a gap of 12 years, an opening ceremony will take place in Guwahati before the opening fixture with singer Shreya Ghosal set to perform in the event. “Ghoshal, who has also recorded the tournament’s official anthem, “Bring it Home,” will deliver a live performance that celebrates the energy, spirit, and unity of women’s cricket on the global stage,” the ICC said.
