Huawei Y9 (2019) gets Rs. 3,000 price cut in India; now retailing at Rs. 12,990
Chinese phone maker Huawei has been quite aggressive in the Indian market this year. It has announced a number of phones across multiple budget segments which have impressed with their price and under the hood specs. One of these phones has been the Huawei Y9, which despite already being a very competitive device, has now become an even more recommendable handset.
The device has gotten a fresh price drop and is now retailing on the e-commerce platform of its exclusive sale partner in the country, Amazon, for as low as Rs. 12,990 — as opposed to its original launch price of Rs. 15,990. Huawei’s budget handset comes with a good feature list and impressive specs for the price.
The new price makes the device quite competitive, however, there’s still little clarity on whether it is a permanent price drop or just a limited time offer. Regardless, the device can be bought in Black, Blue and Aurora Purple colour options.
As for the device itself, the Huawei Y9 2019 sports a 6.5-inch Full HD+ Full View (2340 × 1080 pixels resolution) display which further comes with 19:5:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. It is powered by the Huawei Octa-Core Kirin 710 12nm processor clocked at 1.7GHz and coupled with ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU for graphics. The smartphone further features 4GB of RAM / 64GB of storage, expandable up to 400GB with a microSD card.
While the Huawei Y9 2019 runs Android 8.1 (Oreo) out of the box with EMUI 8.2 on top, it supports Dual SIM connectivity as well as a dedicated microSD card slot. For optics, the is a 16-megapixel primary rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel secondary camera. At the front, there is a 13-megapixel camera with the 2-megapixel secondary sensor.
Other features of the Huawei Y9 2019 include a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and face unlock for biometrics, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) and a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support.
