Open ITIs, polytechnic colleges in naxal-affected areas: Nath tells Centre
Chief Minister Kamal Nath has suggested the Centre to open ITI and Polytechnic colleges in naxal-affected areas so that youth may get employment opportunities and refrain from extremist ideology.
In the meeting of the Chief Ministers of the naxal-affected states, Kamal Nath urged the Centre to open Ekalvya Model Residential School in the remaining 9 blocks also apart from Mandla and Dindori. He put forth a demand for increasing the number of India Reserve Battalion and posting of additional Jawans in the naxal-affected areas.
Kamal Nath urged to include Anuppur, Umaria and Dindori districts in the list of the category of naxal-affected district besides the two districts Mandla and Balaghat. He further said that the Center and State Government should make joint efforts to stop emergence of naxal problem in these three districts. Schemes of developmental works should be made in these districts also on the lines of integrated work-plan, he requested.
Emphasizing on the development of powerful communication network, the CM Said that the information mechanism is ineffective in the backward areas, due to unavailability of the 3G and 4G services. He expressed the need to take the help of private telecom operators as the BSNL services are not satisfactory in the backward areas, so that information- mechanism should be made effective through 3G and 4G.
