Newly released emails from Jeffrey Epstein’s estate – first shared US Congressional Democrats and later expanded Republicans into a trove of more than 20,000 pages – show how widely the late financier corresponded with public figures. The documents, drawn from Epstein’s inbox, include exchanges with politicians, journals, royals, business leaders and people from the entertainment world.
Several emails referenced US President Donald Trump, though none were written him, according to CBC. In one 2019 message to author Michael Wolff, Epstein claimed that “of course he knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop,” though the context and meaning of the line remain unclear.
Trump has repeatedly dismissed the renewed scrutiny of Epstein as a “hoax” pushed Democrats, and has said he cut ties with Epstein around 2004 after a dispute over property. Democrats and Republicans have clashed publicly over what the exchanges suggest. The emails do not prove criminal wrongdoing; they show who Epstein contacted, discussed or sought help from.

CBC also reported that Ghislaine Maxwell told investigators she “never saw the President in any inappropriate setting.” But her emailed acknowledgement that Epstein and Trump met at his house appears to contradict her claim that they “were not close.”

01Prince AndrewUSA Today reported that Epstein exchanged messages with someone led as “The Duke,” referring to Andrew’s former title. In a 2011 thread about media questions related to Virginia Giuffre, the person identified as “The Duke” wrote: “What? I don’t know any of this… How are you responding?”
According to USA Today, Giuffre accused Andrew of sexually assaulting her as a teenager. Andrew has denied the allegations but settled her lawsuit in 2022.
CBC noted that Giuffre said under oath she never saw Trump do anything wrong and did not believe he knew about Epstein’s crimes. In her memoir, she described a brief and friendly encounter with Trump while working at Mar-a-Lago.
02Michael WolffEmails reviewed CBC and Politico show that journal Michael Wolff often advised Epstein on how to handle questions about Trump during the 2016 campaign. In one 2015 exchange, when Epstein asked how Trump might respond if questioned about their relationship, Wolff replied: “I think you should let him hang himself.”
In 2019, Epstein told Wolff that Trump had claimed to have asked Epstein to resign from Mar-a-Lago, something Epstein disputed, and repeated his line that Trump “knew about the girls.”
03Larry SummersPolitico reported several appearances former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers. In one 2017 email from Saudi Arabia, Summers wrote that the prevailing view among officials was that “Donald is a clown, increasingly dangerous on foreign policy.” In other messages, he discussed gender and intelligence debates and told Epstein: “DO NOT REPEAT THIS INSIGHT.”
04Kathryn RuemmlerFormer Obama White House Counsel Kathryn Ruemmler corresponded with Epstein in 2018 while at Latham & Watkins, Politico reported. In one exchange, she commented on the Michael Cohen case; in another she joked about a road trip and people she expected to see at New Jersey rest stops. Epstein responded in one message: “You see, I know how dirty Donald is.”
05Peter ThielPolitico reported that Epstein emailed tech investor Peter Thiel in 2018, praising his “trump exaggerations, not lies.” Thiel replied, “Can’t complain thus far…” and Epstein invited him to visit the Caribbean: “Dec visit me Caribbean.”
06Steve BannonPolitico also noted an exchange in which Epstein offered former White House strateg Steve Bannon access to “many leaders of countries” if he spent time in Europe, telling him: “Europe remote doesn’t work.”
07Woody Allen and Soon-Yi PrevinEpstein shared a news article with Soon-Yi Previn, wife of filmmaker Woody Allen, as per the reports Politico. Previn replied that “Woody said it didn’t mean anything.”
08Public Peggy SiegalA 2011 exchange is also mentioned in the Politico reports in which Epstein asked prominent public Peggy Siegal to reach out to media executive Arianna Huffington to help clear his name. Epstein wrote that Huffington should talk about “the dangers of false allegations.”
Siegal told Politico she found the request absurd, saying: “It was a moronic request… he constantly tried to embroil innocent people.”
09Art Andres SerranoIn a 2016 exchange with art Andres Serrano, noted Politico, Epstein said the US election offered “no good choice.” Serrano replied he was so put off the outrage over Trump’s “grab them the pussy” tape that he might give Trump a “sympathy vote.” Serrano was referring to the well-known Access Hollywood recording in which Trump was heard boasting about groping women.
