Divya Khosla confronts Mukesh Bhatt over calling her Savi vs Jigra comments ‘chichori harkat’, shares call recording | Bollywood News

After Savi producer Mukesh Bhatt said that the film’s lead actor Divya Khosla Kumar, who is married to T-Series head Bhushan Kumar, created an unecessary controversy comparing her film to Alia Bhatt’s Jigra for publicity, he has now changed his statement. Divya recently took to Instagram to share a call recording where she can be heard speaking to Mukesh as she asked him to explain his stance, and he confidently said that this was a “backlash from the other camp” and was being done people who have “vested interests.”
In the call, Divya asked Mukesh if he said something against her and called her actions “chichori harkat (petty acts)”. She asked Mukesh, “Aapne kuch bola hai mere against ki maine chichori harkat ki hai? Ki maine Alia ka jo Jigra ka controversy hai voh maine publicity stunt kia hai. (Did you say something against me that I did something petty? That I created the Jigra controversy with Alia for a publicity stunt.)” To this, Mukesh plainly denied his older statement as he said, “No one asked me anything, and I didn’t say anything to anyone. This is being created people who have vested interests.”
Divya said that she was seeing this all over social media on her birthday, which was on November 20, and Mukesh told her that she must believe that this was all planned. “The fact that it’s come on your birthday means somebody, who wants to hurt you, has intentionally planned this. Also I didn’t know it was your birthday today. Aur main aisi ghatiya harkat (Such petty things)… You know me now beta,” he said and added that this was a “backlash from the other camp”. While he didn’t name the “other camp” he was talking about, it was presumably Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, as they were the producers behind Jigra.

Divya, agreeing with Mukesh, said, “This means they are so much after me that even after a year also, they planned it especially for my birthday.” Mukesh nodded along and said, “See, they planned the timing. Don’t react to this stupid thing. It doesn’t matter. What matters is yours and my pure relationship, that is more important. Yeh chichori baaton pe (Such petty things)… don’t get dragged into it. Rise above this.”
Divya seemed convinced Mukesh’s version of events as she shared this call’s contents on social media along with a note where she said that “truth” should come out “especially for all those arts and fans who have suffered under hierarchy, lobing, and gatekeeping in our film industry.” She also hinted at “certain groups” who “attempt to sabotage careers and push genuine talent out.” She ended her note saying that the “industry mafia” needed to be called out.

Previously, Mukesh, in a chat with Lehren Retro, was asked about the Jigra vs Savi controversy where Divya accused Jigra makers of copying her film’s story and inflating their box office figures. Mukesh had then said, “What Divya did for publicity, I don’t know about that. But Jigra, if I am not maken, Mahesh had made a film for Yash Johar called Gumrah, which was inspired Bangkok Hilton. I think that film was the inspiration behind Jigra.” He further added, “To get some attention in the media, you can create some controversy. Everyone needs some publicity. And for publicity, you need some controversy.”
Mukesh even said that since Alia was a “bigger star”, her name could be used others for creating controversies. He defended her saying, “Alia Bhatt is a major star, and if you raise something like this with a bigger star, you can create some controversy. I don’t think Alia Bhatt is that bankrupt that she has to steal ideas from my films. She is too big a person, she doesn’t need to do all this. She is a very sorted, intelligent, decent and good girl. She can’t even dream of doing something that’s so low. I can guarantee you that because I know her.” He added, “Alia is too big for this. Usko yeh chichori harkat karne ki zarurat nahi hai (She doesn’t need to do something this cheap.)”
