‘My husband Shirish Kunder was taken for my son’: Farah Khan says she got tummy tuck surgery, goes for regular IVF drips, massages to take care of herself now | Bollywood News

Farah Khan, who has been enjoying a renewed wave of visibility thanks to her candid and often humorous YouTube vlogs recently spoke with Soha Ali Khan on her podcast, reflecting on embracing pregnancy later in life and the difficult, slow journey of reclaiming her health and fitness in the years that followed. Opening up about the years she spent prioritising work over her own well-being, Farah admitted that self-care had simply never been a luxury she could afford. It was only after she crossed 50, she said, that she consciously decided it was time to change that.
Recalling how her appearance had taken a back seat during her peak working years, she shared, “I see some of my old videos. Though now I feel, ‘Oh my God, I used to be very thin till I had the kids. And I had terrible skin, and I should not even go to do a blow-dry because I was working non-stop. Like we used to shoot day… sometimes day shift, night shift all together and all that. And you know, it’s without the hair tied up and all that… like that. But now, after I hit 50 actually, I decided to look after myself. They say na ‘abhi jab gaadi purani ho jaati hai, uska servicing zyada hota hai. Usko garage mein dekho.’ (When a car gets old, it needs more servicing. You have to keep taking it to the garage). So I have a skin doctor. Like I go regularly for hair vitamins and… because you have to.”
Farah also spoke openly about choosing to become a mother at 43 and navigating the emotional complexities of late pregnancy. “So see, my kids were very young when I hit 50; they were only 7 years old then. But I had my kids at 43. So I was like, when I go to school, my kids should not feel ke grandmother has come to drop them. So kids also keep us young.” In true Farah Khan fashion, she punctuated the conversation with humour, recalling an incident where her husband, filmmaker-editor Shirish Kunder, was maken for her son. “I must tell you, once we had taken the kids for a holiday and I was like literally overweight and all. And the lady came, Shirish was there, and she said, ‘Can I clean your room? And can you ask your son to leave then?’ And Shirish, he loves it when people do that.”

In the same conversation, she also addressed the physical aftermath of childbirth, revealing she eventually underwent a tummy-tuck procedure to deal with the excessive loose skin. “At one point, after four-five years I had to go and do a tummy tuck surgery, because there was so much extra skin, it was horrible.” She also spoke about how she goes for lymphatic massages and IV drips now.
This was not the first time Farah had discussed the challenges behind her motherhood journey. In a previous conversation with Sania Mirza, she opened up about her IVF experience, how she failed twice before finally being blessed with triplets on her third attempt, and how the process took a toll on her. “Because I was carrying triplets, everything was three times more intense. I would throw up constantly, and my body broke out in rashes. I had rashes all over my stomach. I could barely sleep, at any time, one of the babies was pressing on my bladder. I practically lived in the loo.”
