‘You couldn’t catch a cold in winter’, Kevin Pietersen trolls Virat Kohli on throwback picture
There’s no doubting that former England captain Kevin Pietersen is a jolly cricketer who is mostly found in the best of his mood. Having become a pretty active personality on social media since the COVID-19 pandemic struck the entire world, Pietersen has been interacting with various cricketers. On Wednesday, he trolled Indian captain Virat Kohli on the throwback picture he had posted with Cheteshwar Pujara
“First session after lockdown be like @cheteshwar_pujara I hope you will go for the ball pujji,” Kohli captioned the picture as the Indian skipper trolled the Test specialist batsman.
While Pujara also responded to Kohli, saying: “Yes captain, and I shall catch it with both hands”, Pietersen also used the opportunity to poke fun at the Indian captain.
“#FakeNews. You couldn’t catch a cold in winter!”, the former England batsman commented.
Pietersen is often found teasing other cricketers on social media. He has already had a few fun Instagram sessions with the likes of Ahmed Shehzad, Kohli, Rohit Sharma and also had a little banter with Gautam Gambhir on Twitter. Fans might be missing cricketing action on the field but Pietersen has made sure to give them some entertainment on social media.
The Virat Kohli catch:
As for the catch that Kohli, Pujara and KP are talking about, it was back in 2018 during India’s tour Down Under that the Virat had caught Australia’s Peter Handscomb off an Ishant Sharma delivery. The one-handed screamer by Kohli left cricket fans in awe.
It was the first Test of the series at Perth, with India looking to bundle out the Aussies on the second day’s play. Ishant, running t Handscomb, bowled a short one and the batsman couldn’t resist going for the shot despite the ball being outside the off-stump. It looked like the ball would fly past Kohli in the second slip but he produced a superman-esque effort to cleanly catch the ball.
