CM ex-gratia of Rs 1 cr to kin of Lance Naik Jitendra Kumar
Singh Chouhan has announced an ex gratia relief of Rs 1 crore and a government job to the family of Naik Jitendra Kumar Verma, who along with Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and 11 others, lost his life in the helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu’s Coonoor on December 8.Paying homage to Verma on Sunday, CM Chouhan wrote on Twitter in Hindi, “I pay homage to our martyred son Jitendra Kumar ji who lost his life in the helicopter crash.
Ex-gratia of Rs 1 crore will be given to the family of the martyr, wife, daughter Sunita will be taken in government service. A school will be named after him- ‘Amar Shaheed Jitendra Kumar Vidyalaya’. A memorial will be built in the memory of the braveheart in Dhamanda village.”Verma hailed from Sehore district and the chief minister had reached his native village, Dhamanda, to take part in the funeral on Sunday morning.The mortal remains of Verma arrived at the state hanger in Bhopal, where military officials, public representatives, administration officials and the public paid their tributes to the braveheart.Later, the body was taken to Verma’s ancestral village Dhamanda in Sehore district for the last rites, which were performed by his brother. Verma’s father and 13-month-old son were also present there.Talking to reporters, CM Chouhan said, “Amar Shaheed Jitendra Kumar ji is not only the pride of Dhamanda but also the pride of Madhya Pradesh and the entire country. I salute this virtuous soul, his parents and wife.”
