It may be noted that the vaccination started in India on 16 January, 2021. Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Prabhuram Choudhary was also present in the programme of JP hospital.
Chouhan said that today is a historic day in the history of India. It has been one year since vaccination for Corona control started. Corona had arrived in March 2020. The very next month itself, Prime Minister Shri Modi took the initiative to manufacture a vaccine in India to protect against Corona. He had formed the task force in April 2020. After the indigenous vaccine was made, all eligible people started getting vaccinated from January 2021.
The Chief Minister said that earlier also epidemics would strike. Vaccines made in other countries were the only support. India had to depend on vaccines manufactured in other countries. In a very short period, the work of manufacturing and using the vaccine started in India. Citizens need not worry too much in the third wave due to vaccination. Even though this infection is not aggressive, we have to take full precautions. Chief Minister Chouhan thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for providing free vaccine to the citizens.
Chouhan thanked the scientists, experts, all the doctors and paramedical staff and congratulated them for their role.
Chouhan said that about 11 crore vaccine doses have been administered to the people of the state.
Till January 15, 5 crore 32 lakh have been administered the first dose and 5 crore 8 lakh have got the second dose of vaccine in Madhya Pradesh. This is 97 and 92 percent of the target, respectively.
Now the benefits of Vaccine Dose, Booster Dose and Precaution Dose are being given to health workers and such senior citizens who are suffering from other ailments, along with youngsters in the age group of 15 to 18 years. In the state, 40 lakh 75 thousand adolescents have been vaccinated and 3 lakh 70 thousand elderly people have been vaccinated. In Madhya Pradesh, the work of vaccination has been done well in each category. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it is possible to avoid infection in the third wave only by adopting Covid appropriate behavior. He advised citizens to take advantage of the Suraksha chakra of the vaccine and follow all precautions. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan urged all political parties, religious leaders, social organizations and members of Crisis Management Group at every level to cooperate in the vaccination work.
Herculean task and Public Safety
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that while Prime Minister Shri Modi took the lead for Corona control, our health workers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers worked tirelessly by crossing fields, barns, hills, river ponds and vaccinating and saving the lives of citizens. All of them deserve praise. Our country cannot forget their services. Along with this, members of Crisis Management Group, religious leaders, members of political parties have ensured public participation in 11 campaigns conducted in Madhya Pradesh. Vaccination ensures that the infection does not become fatal. Only 3 or 4 percent of the total positive cases are being admitted to the hospital.
CM Shri Chouhan’s appeal to citizens
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan appealed to the citizens to cooperate in getting the vaccine to those who are left out. Identify eligible people who have not been vaccinated at ward, panchayat level in door to door campaigns. This is a powerful means of protection. Adopt Covid appropriate behavior. The number of infected may increase in the third wave, so do not skip precautions such as use of face masks, avoiding crowds, maintaining social distance and washing hands frequently. It is also the duty of every citizen. Do follow the precautions that have been mentioned for home isolation as well. Covid care centers have started in the state. Oxygen plants are also functional. Despite these arrangements, attention has to be paid to all measures to prevent infection.
