Riots will not be tolerated in any condition: CM
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that it is our duty to maintain law and order in the state. Peace should not be disturbed in the state under any circumstances, riots will not be tolerated. In the coming days, it should be ensured that the upcoming festivals are celebrated peacefully.
Chouhan was reviewing law and order in (Ministry) Vallabh Bhawan. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Sudhir Saxena and other officers were present.
Chouhan praised the management of programmes and processions organized on Hanuman Jayanti. He said that there would be religious and social activities in a vibrant society. The district administration is responsible for systematic, peaceful coordination and operation. We have to set a good example in the field of law and order in the state by staying alert and cautious. He told to discharge one’s obligations with commitment. Action should continue against identified criminals, a tight-knit system should be ensured in the entire state.
The Chief Minister said that good governance is the basis of law and order. In the state focus on the police station level for law and order. Chouhan directed to strengthen the beat system at the police station level. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the beat system should be strengthened by assigning responsibilities to the constables and head constables at the police station and using their leadership abilities. Stating the need to strengthen the intelligence system, Chief Minister Chouhan directed to present an action plan for strong intelligence.
Chouhan stated the need of training on controlling riots, crowd and management. Chief Minister Chouhan said that effective models of the Government of India or other states should be studied. The new technology that has come in this area can also be used as an experiment in the state. Chief Minister Chouhan said that the concerned should be encouraged to install CCTV cameras at religious places. It is helpful in crime control. These will effectively control anti-social elements and other activities.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that rioters and mafia will not be spared in the state. The campaign will continue to free the land from illegal encroachments and against those who create unrest. Police and administration should work jointly in this campaign. The Chief Minister said that 21 thousand acres of land has been freed from mafia. The freed land is to be made available to the poor for housing. A committee will be constituted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary to make its action plan.
Chouhan also directed to identify those who give help and protection to mischievous elements and those involved in illegal activities. Chief Minister Chouhan said that it is necessary to break the criminals financially. We also have to attack illegal liquor. It is necessary to dismantle the commission network.
The Chief Minister said that it is necessary to ensure the availability of adequate staff at the police stations and at the field level. For this the practice of salute given to ministers was discontinued. Similarly, practice of deploying police personnel in house will be stopped. Policemen posted against the rules on the bungalows of police officers will be removed from the bungalows and posted in police stations.
Their services will be taken for essential field level work.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that the officers must visit their districts and areas of ??charge and maintain contact with the public. Officers with direct communication with the public and whose effectiveness is more in public, should be entrusted with the responsibility of the field area. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan also directed to activate Gram and Nagar Raksha Samiti and reorganize them. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that it should be ensured that the staff posted at the police stations does not remain posted at one place for a long time, and should be shifted regularly.
