Chouhan plants Khirni and Cassia saplings
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan planted saplings of Khirni and Cassia along with the office bearers of Sagar Royal Vilas Residents Association in the Smart City Garden. Gurucharan Singh, Parimal Yadav, Shri Omvir Singh Rana and Sanjeev Khare of the Residents Association planted saplings. Chief Minister Chouhan inspired the office bearers to remain active in cleanliness campaigns and tree-planting activities.
Residents Association works for cleanliness and environment in their colony and encourages citizens to be active in this direction. Also, environmental and cleanliness activities are conducted along with senior citizens, women and children. The walls of the colony have been made beautiful and attractive with paintings.
Khirni tree grows in India especially in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu etc. Its fruits khirni are like neem fruits, which are very sweet and hot. The bark and leaves of Cassia are used in making Ayurvedic medicines.
