Kane Williamson set to miss remainder of IPL 2022

SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Kane Williamson will be leaving the bio-bubble and travelling to New Zealand for the birth of his child. This means that he will be missing the final match of Hyderabad’s campaign in IPL 2022.
“Our skipper Kane Williamson is flying back to New Zealand, to usher in the latest addition to his family. Here’s everyone at the #Riser camp wishing Kane and his wife a safe delivery and a lot of happiness,” SRH wrote on Twitter.

Williamson and his wife are expecting their second child.
It is learnt that Williamson will return to India to play in the IPL if Hyderabad manages to make it to the playoffs. Else, he will fly to England to play the cricket series there with the New Zealand team. Williamson is a father of a 20-month-old daughter Maggie.
Williamson has been going through a batting lull at the moment. Prior to the IPL, he was forced to miss a couple of home series due to a recurring tennis elbow problem.

So frustrated was he to miss the series against South Africa that he told reporters: “Cut it off … I have thought about that a few times,”.
He had also consulted Sachin Tendulkar, who too had undergone a tennis elbow issue during his career.
“Everyone seems to have a different story with this sort of injury. So I was certainly hopeful at the start. But not to be, it’s a difficult pill to swallow, to be honest,” he had said earlier. I am just really curious about my endpoint. But everyone has been pretty unanimous that there would be one (end of the injury),” he added.
