Ajay Devgn reacts to his third National Film Award win, thanks his team and fans
Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn won the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance in ‘Tanhaji; The Unsung Warrior’.
It may be mentioned that this is Ajay’s third National Award. The actor is elated to win the prestigious award and has thanked his team and fans for their support.
The actor said, “I’m elated to win the Best Actor Award for Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior at the 68th National Film Awards along with Suriya who won for Soorarai Pottru. I thank everyone, most of all my creative team, the audience and my fans. I also express my gratitude to my parents and the Almighty for their blessings. Congratulations to all the other winners.”
‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior’ has also won National Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. He said, “As the producer of the film, it gives me immense joy to receive an honour at the 68th National Film Awards for the best film that has provided wholesome entertainment. Tanhaji was exactly that. It is a good story of friendship, loyalty, family values and sacrifice. It has strong national sentiments, super VFX and a holistic approach in entertainment.”
“I must share the honour with my director Om Raut, my co-producers, T-Series and my co-actors. Most of all, I thank my creative team who has contributed handsomely to making this a blockbuster and now a National Award winner,” he added.
Ajay with share the award with Suriya who also won for the film ‘Soorarai Pottru’.
‘Tanhaji: The Unsung Hero’ was the first film of 2020 to cross Rs 200 crore mark at the box office. The Om Raut-directed period action drama is based on the life of Tanaji Malusare, the military leader of Maratha king Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s army.
The movie also features Kajol, Saif Ali Khan as Udaybhan Singh Rathore and Sharad Kelkar as Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
