Madhya Pradesh cop suspended for thrashing old man: Report
The almost 30-second long video of the incident at the Jabalpur railway station, which has been doing the rounds on social media, showed the constable kicking the elderly man in his face.

A police constable was seen brutally thrashing an elderly man at the Jabalpur railway station in Madhya Pradesh on Friday. The almost 30-second long video of the incident, which has been doing the rounds on social media, showed the constable kicking the elderly man in his face.The constable then grabbed the man his feet, pulled him and was on the verge of throwing him on the railway track. The video of the incident, recorded one of the passengers inside a stationary train, also showed the constable repeatedly kicking the elderly man’s left hand.

Hindustan Times could not independently verify the video.According to Superintendent of Police Rewa, the constable has been suspended from duty, news agency ANI reported.Further details regarding this shocking incident are awaited.

‘Onus on elected panchayat leaders to check child marriage, dowry cases in Bihar’

Bombay HC directs collector to remove 48 structures flouting aircraft rules
The Bombay high court on Friday directed the Mumbai suburban drict collector to initiate measures to remove the 48 structures that are apparently coming in the path of the aircraft flying in and out of the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport and are in violation of the Aircraft Obstacle Rules. The matter will next be heard on August 22. Buildings violating actual height restrictions are around eight. The matter was therafter forwarded to the collector.

In a bid to empower women from low-income groups, Greenpeace India has delivered bicycles to over 450 women labourers in Delhi and Bengaluru as part of the ‘power the pedal’ campaign. Nandi (48) and her husband Amarkant (54), who reside in a slum in south Delhi, cycle 20 to 25 kilometers every day to sell balloons in different markets across the national capital.
