‘A big score is coming very soon’: Mark Boucher bats for Rohit Sharma to find form in IPL | Ipl News

With former Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma struggling for form this Indian Premier League (IPL) season, his former coach with MI Mark Boucher said that the Indian captain was showing signs of returning to rhythm, adding that it was just a matter of time before Rohit fires in all cylinders. Rohit scored his highest score of the season on Thursday when he slammed 26 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Wankhede.
“Rohit Sharma took it upon himself to go after the bowlers. We saw some good old-fashioned Rohit Sharma sixes – big ones too. I liked his attitude. He put the bowlers under pressure, created scoring opportunities. He was just past the 30-mark — a big score is coming very soon. He’s looking in that zone again,” Boucher said on ‘Jiostar’.
There has been a lot of talks about Rohit’s dismal run this season with the batter failing to reach 50 runs in 6 matches. If you leave out the Hyderabad match, Rohit has scores of 0, 8, 13, 17, 18 in the other games he has played this season, accumulating just 82 runs.

Meanwhile, in a more cheerful news, Rohit will have a stand name after him at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) announced earlier in the week. The Divecha Pavilion Level 3 will soon be named Rohit Sharma Stand.
The decision was taken at the 86th Annual General Meeting, which happened in Mumbai on Tuesday. A major highlight of the meeting was the decision to increase the corpus for affiliated clubs to Rs. 75 crores, with a forward-looking plan to enhance it to Rs. 100 crores in the coming years, said MCA.
Two more stands, Grand Stand Level 3 and Grand Stand Level 4, were renamed as Sharad Pawar Stand and Ajit Wadekar Stand, respectively.

In a tribute to Late Amol Kale, former president of MCA, the match day office at the MCA Pavilion will now be known as the MCA Office Lounge in memory.
