Kareena Kapoor says putting on 25 kgs after Jeh’s birth made her panic, recalls being a ‘chub kid’ who was comfortable eating chips | Bollywood News

Kareena Kapoor has always been a confident woman and during a recent chat, Kareena expressed that she lives the rule ‘Main apni favourite hun (I’m my favourite person)’. At nutrition Rujuta Diwekar’s book launch on Wednesday, Kareena spoke about relationship with food and shared that she has always felt comfortable eating a packet of chips. She shared that she put on 45 kgs after the birth of her second child Jeh, and for a second she felt the pressure of getting back to her old self, but she instantly felt that she was still “looking fab.”
Recounting her own popular dialogue from the film Jab We Met, she said, “I’m someone who has actually lived the rule ‘Main apni favourite hun (I’m my favourite person)’. That’s the only way every woman should live their life because self belief is everything. However you think or feel, you have to constantly keep telling yourself that. If you reassure yourself everyday, it just becomes easy to believe and then others start believing it. Not that it matters what others think, at least I have always lived like that.”
Rujuta instantly added that Kareena is one of her most confident clients. “One of the things that I have always loved about Kareena is that she really compliments herself. She tells me, ‘I cannot even tell you how good I am looking’ and ‘I am looking like a stick’. I love that about her,” she shared.

Talking about her relationship with food, the Crew actor expressed, “I was always a chub kid. But I was always happy. My relationship with food has been amazing so think that has really helped. It’s not like I have ever tried to starve to look thin, I am very comfortable in my own skin. In my teenage years also, I was always really happy to pick up a chips packet and eat. I was a confident girl.”
When asked if there was any moment when she felt insecure about her body, Kareena spoke about the time when she gave birth to her second child, Jehangir Ali Khan. “After Jeh’s birth, there was a moment when I felt ‘Oh my God, I have to go back and do this all over again’. But, it was just for a flash of a second, I felt that I was still looking fab. I had gained 25 kgs, not to mention,” she said.
In 2024, Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen in Crew and Singham Again.
