After Gujarat, power change likely in MP
Amid rumours and speculation over a likely change of guard, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has remained immersed in work, focussing on development plank.
On Wednesday, Chouhan was in Delhi meeting Union Ministers and other leaders of significance. His body language was one that of ‘business as usual’. The media persons, gathered to know his comments regarding change of guard in MP, had to satisfy with Chouhan’s statement on roadmap to development of his State.
After then Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani was sacked few days ago, it was suspected that Madhya Pradesh chief minister could be next in the line.
As speculated, Rupani was removed as chief minister following anti-incumbancy, on similar lines change of guard can take place in Madhya Pradesh. The sequence of events also suggest that something is cooking up politically in this direction.
Political observers feel that change of guard is imminent in Madhya Pradesh, but when it is going to take place, is still speculated.A meeting of Core Committee, whose part is Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, also held in Bhopal on Thursday night. For the purpose, visit of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar in Bhopal at midnight was also an important event. Over a thousand people were present at the railway station to welcome him.
Besides, the extensive road show of Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia at Gwalior on Wednesday was an exclusive event. It is believed that the BJP high command is out to increase the clout of Scindia. The Jan Darshan yatra of Scindia has been planned by the high command only. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar was also a part of Scindia’s road show on Wednesday night. Sources claim that Tomar joined the gathering only on the directions of high command.
