The Cummins family has been known to follow their son’s cricketing journey throughout the world. Later after the match, the Australian captain spoke about how he felt lucky that his father and brother were there at Edgbaston to watch and support him.
“It was really special, Dad has been here all week and I just feel lucky to have him here,” Cummins said. “It’s been a tough few months. My brother has been here all week as well. Dad was here in 2019 with Mum. Having him here was just really special.”
Cummins also spoke about how he and his father ended up going to watch Bruce Springsteen at the end of the first day of the Birmingham Test. He ended up missing the opening bit of the musician’s set l at Villa Park.
“Dad was here in 2019 with Mum, so having him here was really special. I went with him to see Bruce Springsteen (at Villa Park) on the first night as well. I missed the first 20 minutes, but he put on a show like he always does, The Boss,” said Cummins.

Australia are set to take on England in the second Test from July 28 onwards at the Lord’s Cricket ground.
