After Pahalgam attack, Pakan PM Shehbaz Sharif holds security meeting in response to India’s 5-point action | World News

Pakan Prime Miner Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday convened a meeting of the National Security Committee after India responded with five-point action against the neighbouring country over the terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives.
“Prime Miner Mohammad Shehbaz Sharif @CMShehbaz has convened the meeting of the National Security Committee on Thursday morning 24th April 2025 to respond to the Indian Government’s statement of this evening,” Pakan Deputy Prime Miner Ishaq Dar posted on X,
The National Security Committee will deliberate upon internal and external situations and “will review response to India’s hastily taken, impulsive and impractical water measures”, local broadcaster Radio Pakan reported on Wednesday evening. Local media also said that three services chiefs and important key miners were supposed to be part of the meeting.

The meeting comes hours after India announced a barrage of actions against Pakan, part of which was suspending the Indus Water Treaty and expelling diplomats and defence forces officials from Pakan High Commission in New Delhi.
In a Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired Prime Miner Narendra Modi, India also decided to close the Integrated Check Post at Attari with immediate effect.
The government further announced that Pakani nationals will not be permitted to travel to India under the SAARC Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) and any such visas issued in the past to Pakani nationals are deemed cancelled.
Dawn reported that deputy prime miner Ishaq Dar, while speaking to a private television channel late on Wednesday, lashed out at India’s approach, calling it “immature” and “hasty”.Story continues below this ad
“India has not given any evidence. They have not shown any maturity in their response,” Dar said. “This is a non-serious approach. They started creating hype immediately after the incident,” he added.
The terror attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam took place on Wednesday evening, when militants opened fire on a group of tours, killing 26 people and injuring 10 others.
In a previous statement, Pakan’s foreign minry condoled the loss of life in Pahalgam and said that the country stands against terrorism.
