After Rabada, Gujarat Titans dealt with another blow as Glenn Phillips ruled out of IPL 2025 | Ipl News

Days Kagiso Rabada left for personal reasons, Gujarat Titans were dealt another blow in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season after Glenn Phillips was ruled out of the tournament.
Phillips picked up a groin injury while fielding against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6 and the franchise said that the all-rounder has ‘returned to New Zealand. The table-toppers, with four wins in five matches, are yet to name a replacement.
Incidentally, Phillips did not get a place in Titans’ starting line-up even once during his stint with the team. Against Sunrisers, he came on as a substitute after the fifth over. On the fourth ball of that over, Ishan Kishan played the ball towards point. Phillips chased it down and threw the ball towards the wicketkeeper’s end as Kishan and Nitish Reddy ran a single. However, he immediately went down holding his groin and limped back to the dug-out with the help of the Titans’ team members.

Gujarat, who haven’t named a replacement for Rabada as well, are now down to five foreign players — Sherfane Rutherford, Rashid Khan, Jos Buttler, Gerald Coetzee and Afghan all-rounder Karim Janat.
Of the five, Coetzee is also returning from an injury that ruled him out of the SA20 and Champions Trophy.
