US President Donald Trump on Monday said that he will be filing a defamation and libel suit against American newspaper the New York Times for $15 billion in the state of Florida.
Informing about the development, Trump, in a post on Truth Social said, “Today, I have the Great Honor of bringing a $15 Billion Dollar Defamation and Libel Lawsuit against The New York Times, one of the worst and most degenerate newspapers in the hory of our country, becoming a virtual “mouthpiece” for the Radical Left Democrat Party.”

Without providing any further details, the US president said that the lawsuit would be filed in Florida. The Republican leader pointed out the New York Times’ endorsement of former presidential candidate and Democratic leader Kamala Harris among other concerns.
Trump further accused NYT of lying about him, his businesses and about his family members. The New York Times is yet to respond to the development.
Trump, in the post, wrote that the New York Times had “been allowed to freely lie, smear, and defame me for far too long.”
