Alia Bhatt and Kartik Aaryan to share screen space for the first time in SLB’s next?

Soon after Inshallah got shelved with Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt, it was reported that Sanjay Leela Bhansali has decided to revive his yet another ambitious project, Gangubai, an adaptation of a chapter from S Husain Zaidi’s Mafia Queens of Mumbai which focuses on Gangubai Kothewali, the matriarch of Kamathipura.

Although there has been no official announcement on the same as yet but buzz is that because SLB had committed to working with Alia in Inshallah, he’s already brough her on board for Gangubai and is ensuring to fulfill his commitment. This is precisely also the reason why Alia confidently went on record to say that, “I can give it you in writing that I am going to work with Sanjay Leela Bhansali very soon”, during a recent event.

However, while Alia’s role looks clear in SLB’s next, here’s an update on the male lead of the film who’s said to be none other than Kartik Aaryan. Yes. According to a recent report in a leading daily, Kartik has been frequently visiting Bhansali’s office these days. He’s also been snapped by the paps outside SLB’s office, a couple of times. Given that SLB is currently only working on Gangubai, it’s believed that he’s considering Kartik for the lead role opposite Alia in the film. Or maybe Kartik is one of the few who’s made it to the list of actors in the running for the role.

Let’s see who gets finalised eventually. But of course, if Kartik really gets paired opposite Alia in the film then it’s definitely going to be one dream pairing on screen. What do you think?

On the professional front, Kartik is currently gearing up for quite few releases including Pati Patni Aur Woh remake, Imtiaz Ali’s next with Sara Ali Khan, Dostana 2 with Janhvi Kapoor and Bhool Bhulaiyya 2 with Kiara Advani. Alia on the other hand is tied up with Brahmastra co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, RRR, her South debut with Ram Charan and now Gangubai with SLB.
