While Farah has often shared in interviews that her entry into choreography was purely accidental, there’s one story she recalled in an old interview with Lehren Retro that stands out. It involves none other than Bollywood star Anil Kapoor, during the making of the 1994 classic 1942: A Love Story, directed Vidhu Vinod Chopra.

Farah recalled, “I never had any problems with working with stars. Though when I was working on 1942: A Love Story, Anil Kapoor had a problem with me. He told Vinod Chopra that this is such a big film and she won’t be able to manage. He said, ‘You should call Saroj Khan.’ But till now he says sorry to me about this because I keep reminding him about it. Because the minute I shot the first song, Anil had no problem. And he was big enough to come to me and say sorry, saying, ‘I thought you wouldn’t be able to do it.’ Now we are very good friends.”
