US President Donald Trump wished former President Joe Biden a speedy and successful recovery after the Democrat leader was diagnosed with an “aggressive form” of prostate cancer that has spread to his bones, his office confirmed on Sunday.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he and Melania “are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis. We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family.”
The brief statement President Trump marks an expression of empathy the Republican leader for Joe Biden, to whom he has been criticizing and accusing of cognitive decline even after Biden dropped out of the 2024 US presidential race, making way for former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Reports stated that Biden, 82, was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday after experiencing urinary symptoms. Biden and his family members are reviewing options for treatment with the doctors, a statement from his office stated.
“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” Biden’s office detailed.

Kamala Harris, in a post on X, said that she and her husband Doug Emhoff are keeping the Biden family in their prayers. “Joe is a fighter – and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership,” Harris said.
Biden, who served the US president from 2020-2024, has faced scrutiny time and again over his health and mental acuity. He abruptly ended his 2024 presidential bid in July, weeks after a debate with Donald Trump on CNN.
Detailing about the seriousness of cancer, Biden’s office said the cancer scored a nine out of 10 on the Gleason score grading system which is used to determine the aggressiveness of prostate cancer.Story continues below this ad
According to the Cleveland Clinic, prostate cancer is the second most common cancer affecting, after skin cancer, BBC reported. The US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention outlines that 13 out of every 100 men would suffer with prostate cancer at some point in their lives.
