Arjun Kapoor meme is Google’s top meme of 2025, eight years after his ‘angry face’ went viral | Bollywood News

Nothing ever dies on the internet. Once it’s out there, it will remain for everyone to see. If it’s something embarrassing, one can only hope that something even more absurd takes its place, which is usually what happens. However, there are some things which the internet and its users refuse to let go, and for the year 2025, it’s yet again the Arjun Kapoor meme.
Born out of a rude remark a journal and the actor’s reaction to it, it was the most searched meme of this year, despite actually happening in 2017. The small clip, which has been turned into a meme, was cut out from a longer press tour video. Arjun and Shraddha Kapoor were out promoting their film Half Girlfriend, which was directed Mohit Suri and was based on a novel of the same name written Chetan Bhagat.

People don’t necessarily remember the film, but that one moment just refuses to go out of circulation. While answering a question about different shooting locations for the film, Arjun replied that he loves to shoot all over the country, and it feels special wherever he goes. Just as he is done with the answer, someone from the media can be heard saying, ‘Kya baat hai, sir’ (Wow, sir). The problem was in the person’s tone, which seemed mocking. Arjun quickly looked at the person with justifiable consternation and said, “Tune bola?” The awkward moment of silence and Arjun’s piercing gaze have since then become a viral meme.

Even though the press conference happened 8 years ago, the clip resurfaced halfway through 2025. The constant re-shares and the video’s transformation into memes, GIFs, and YouTube shorts even prompted the actor to disable his Instagram comments. However, Arjun soon proved that he could take a joke and also make money off it. The actor starred in an ad for Call Me Chunky ice cream. The entire ad was based on the premise that Arjun just has an angry resting face, with him reacting to cutting his finger, a surprise party and a birthday gift from his girlfriend with the same face.
The actor is still going strong and, despite having rocky releases in recent times, is still active in the industry. His last release was Mere Husband Ki Biwi (2025), alongside Bhumi Pednekar and Rakul Preet Singh. The other memes as per Google, which were in the top 3, were the 67 meme in second place and the Vishal Mega Mart security guard meme.
