Arjun Tendulkar makes IPL debut for Mumbai Indians against KKR
The big news from the toss at the Wankhede Stadium ahead of the Mumbai Indians-Kolkata Knight Riders game was the debut of Arjun Tendulkar.
The left-arm medium fast pacer, son of former MI captain Sachin Tendulkar, will play his first IPL game at the same venue where Tendulkar played his last international match against West Indies back in 2013.
Arjun was added to the XI in place of the team captain Rohit Sharma, who misses out owing to a stomach bug. In 9 T20 games in his career, Arjun has 12 wickets to his name.
In Rohit’s absence, Suryakumar Yadav will be captaining MI in their second home game of the season.
Mumbai come into the match on Sunday on the back of a win, their first this year, against Delhi Capitals after being handed back to back defeats Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings.
Kolkata on the other hand, had won consecutive games after their first match but come into Sunday’s contest after losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad at home.
