‘As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game’: Sachin Tendulkar pens heartwarming note on son, Arjun’s IPL debut
Former Mumbai Indians captain Sachin Tendulkar’s son, Arjun made his IPL debut on Sunday for Mumbai Indians against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Wankhede Stadium. The same venue where Tendulkar Sr. had played his last match for India against the West Indies in 2013.
Arjun bowled two overs and returned with figures of 0/17 in a match that ended with Mumbai emerging victorious five wickets, despite KKR’s Venkatesh Iyer smashing a century.
Taking to Twitter, the leading run scorer in international cricket hory with 100 centuries, penned a heartwarming note for his son.

“Arjun, today you have taken another important step in your journey as a cricketer. As your father, someone who loves you and is passionate about the game, I know you will continue to give the game the respect it deserves and the game will love you back,” he wrote.
“You have worked very hard to reach here, and I am sure you will continue to do so. This is the start of a beautiful journey. All the best!” he added.
Prior to the game on Sunday, Arjun’s had 12 wickets to his name in T20 cricket.
Mumbai Indians marked a second win in four games after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore and Chennai Super Kings. The five-time IPL champions next face Sunrisers Hyderabad on Tuesday, April 18.
