Asia Cup 2023: KL Rahul brings up his century on India return vs Pakan | Cricket News
KL Rahul marked his return to Indian colours in commanding fashion when he brought up his century against arch-rivals Pakan on Monday.
Rahul, who was on the shelf for an extended period due to an injury and the ensuing surgery, brought up his 100 with the help of 10 fours and 2 sixes.
The batter had recently opened up about getting under the knife and how things panned out quickly and how he got support from BCCI and his family members.
“We did speak to a couple of people, but we knew the minute we saw the scan, I mean, not me, I am not an expert, but the physios knew right away that surgery was the only way and that was the route that we had to take.
Meanwhile, the India vs Pakan Super 4 match resumed at 4.40 pm local time after a rain delayed the start of the reserve day.
Despite play starting one hour 40 minutes after the scheduled time, the game remained 50 overs a side contest.
Intermittent rain had pushed Sunday’s marquee game to the reserve day after India reached 147 for two in 24.1 overs.
Before the weather played spoilsport on Sunday, Virat Kohli and Rahul were batting on 8 and 17 respectively after openers Rohit Sharma (56) and Shubman Gill (58) struck fine half-centuries.
