Asia Cup 2025 most runs, wickets: Returning to the T20 format for the first time in three years, the 2025 Asia Cup witnessed a heap of past records being rewritten with both bat and ball during the eight-team tournament across a fortnight in the United Arab Emirates.
Despite the pitches not being outright batting-friendly, certain players have found it good enough to break Asia Cup records during their respective campaigns. Coming to the fore with his belligerent hitting, India opener Abhishek Sharma has been making sensational blitzes with the bat, racking up his runs at a whopping 200-plus strike rate.
Having crossed the 30-run mark in every innings thus far in the tournament, Abhishek’s success has been integral to making India’s path to yet another final that much more smoother. Clobbering 19 sixes, Abhishek has smoked three half-centuries to take his tally up to 309 runs ahead of Sunday’s final against Pakan. The left-handed Abhishek has already broken Virat Kohli’s India record (276) and Muhammad Rizwan’s (281) tournament record for most runs in an Asia Cup edition. Following him on the charts is Sri Lanka opener Pathum Nissanka who carved a blering 107 in 203-run chase during the final group-stage game against India. Albeit in a losing cause, Nissanka’s flair and improved six-hitting display powered him to 261 runs in the tournament at an impressive 160.12 strike rate.

India wr-spinner Kuldeep Yadav made a fantastic return to T20Is after a whole year, wreaking havoc in the middle-overs for every opposition in the tournament. Despite not playing a single T20I since the World Cup triumph in June 2024, Kuldeep roared backed to form and has since picked up 13 wicekts in only six outings this tournament, with a wicket born within every 10th delivery!
Kuldeep also broke the record for most Asia Cup wickets in an edition, having gone past UAE’s Amjad Javed’s 12 wickets from the 2016 tournament. Pakan pacers Harif Rauf and Shaheen Afridi, Bangladesh left-armer Mustafizur Rahman and UAE’s Junaid Siddique hold the joint-second spot with nine scalps each.
