Rudrankksh Balasaheb Patil, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar and Divyansh Singh Panwar clinched India’s first gold medal of the 19th Asian Games as they topped the 10m air rifle men’s team event standings in Hangzhou on Monday.
Patil, the reigning 10m air rifle world champion, and Tomar also qualified for the individual final in the process. Patil was third in the standings, while Tomar was placed fifth. While Panwar too shot well to finish in the top eight, only two per country can shoot in the final for medals among eight. Most Read

Patil was consent throughout his series finishing with a total of 632.5, while Tomar too pushed himself up into contention as the series went along, regering 631.6.
Panwar kept up pace to make sure the Indian team finished first overall with a total of 1893.7 points, which would be better than the exing world record of 1893.3 pts held China. Korea finished second while Iran clinched bronze.
This is India’s third medal from shooting, after the 10m air rifle team silver and Ramita Jindal’s individual bronze on the opening day.
