Assembly Elections 2018 LIVE: Will people vote depending on my knowledge of Hindutva, asks PM Modi

Assembly Elections 2018 LIVE Updates: With elections in Rajasthan just days away, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed a rally in Jodhpur where he mocked Rahul Gandhi for his Hindutva comment. He said, “Rahul Gandhi doubts my knowledge of Hindutva. But, will people vote depending on my knowledge of Hinduism? Or will they vote according to the development we have made in the state?” Hindutva is so vast that nobody can have full knowledge of the religion, he added.

Earlier on Monday, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had addressed a gathering in Gadwal of Telangana as a part of Congress’s campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in the state. Gandhi is scheduled to address another rally in Tandur, Telangana, Monday afternoon. The Congress has forged “Prajakutami” (People’s Alliance) with the TDP, the Telangana Jana Samiti (TJS) and the CPI.

Modi too is scheduled to address a rally in Telangana on Monday. PM Modi will land at the Begumpet airport in Hyderabad and head to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium to address a public meeting. He will return to the national capital in the evening, BJP Telangana chief spokesperson Krishna Sagar Rao told PTI.

In his earlier visit, when he addressed meetings at Nizamabad and Mahabubnagar last week, Modi had criticised Telangana’s ruling TRS and the Congress for perpetuating “family rule” and pursuing “vote bank” politics that harm development like “termites”.
