At least 13 dead after roof collapse at Dominican Republic nightclub during performance | World News

At least 13 people were killed early Tuesday when the roof of the Jet Set nightclub in Santo Domingo collapsed during a performance merengue singer Rub Perez, according to Dominican Republic police, NBC News reported.
The cause of the collapse remains unknown.
Authorities reported 93 ambulance transfers to area hospitals, with search and rescue operations ongoing.
“Our city wakes up to a terrible tragedy,” wrote Santo Domingo Mayor Carolina Mejía de Garrigó on X, expressing condolences and confirming activation of the national disaster response committee.
