At least four students have been injured in a shooting at a high school in Dallas on Tuesday, which drew a heavy police presence on the campus as the police said that the suspect was identified but remains at large.
The Dallas police responded to a shooting at Wilmer-Hutchins High School, located at 5500 Langdon Road, just after 1pm on Tuesday.
The Dallas Fire-Rescue Department informed that three students were injured from the gunshot wounds and the fourth student was hurt in his lower body. The fire department added that the four students, all of whom are male, were transported to hospital with their injuries ranging from serious to not life-threatening.

At a press briefing, Stephanie Elizalde, superintendent of the Dallas Independent School Drict said “Quite frankly, this is just becoming way too familiar. And it should not be familiar,” AP reported.

A CBS News report quoted a student claiming that she heard seven gunshots. Police confirmed at around 2:20pm that there were no active threats and the school compound had been secured, while the suspect was still to be arrested.
The assant police chief for the Dallas Independent School Drict, Chrina Smith, said that the investigation in the firing incident in a high school campus is ongoing but she isn’t aware what led to the shooting. She added that police have identified the suspect without providing any other details.
The Dallas fire department said that the three students who received gunshot wounds were between the ages of 15 and 18, while the age of the fourth student who had “musculoskeletal injury” was not known, AP reported.
