Australia has picked the wrong team: Michael Kasprowicz says Aussies should have picked ‘at least three fast bowlers’.

Former Australian pacer Michael Kasprowicz said Australia picked the wrong team for the fourth and final Test in Ahmedabad where the visitors retained three spinners taking the field with only one front-line pace bowler in Mitchell Starc.
Speaking on on SENQ Breakfast program, Kasprowicz said,” I’m going to call it nose and toes. As a fast bowler, if we want to get stuck in, we either try and hit them on the nose or hit them on the toes.
“The fact that we’ve seen this wicket right now, it’s just a bat-a-thon, we’ll get nothing like the earlier games with the wicket turning square.
“My point is, Australia has picked the wrong team, what they had to do was pick at least three fast bowlers.
“(We’ve got Green and Starc), but one is an all-rounder and Starc is always good with an older ball.”
Meanwhile, Virat Kohli reached triple figures for the first time in 41 innings and a wait of more than three years to nudge India ahad of Australia on day four of the fourth test Sunday.
Kohli scored 186 runs, his 28th Test hundred and his highest test score against Australia, as India finished with 571 (178.5 overs) runs in its first innings to take a lead of 91 runs over Australia’s first-innings total of 480 runs. At stumps, Matthew Kuhnemann and Travis Head (3 not out) negotiated six overs with Australia at 3-0 in its second innings, trailing 88 runs.

Recalling the success in 2004, Kasprowicz said, ” But if we had three fast bowlers plus a spinner – this is the program we went with in India in 2004. The Australian side went in with Glenn McGrath who is the best ever, Jason Gillespie and myself, we also had Shane Warne who was a pretty hander spinner as well.
“Over 90 overs a day, the reason I say pick fast bowlers is that they can create something on these flat wickets.”
