WATCH: Under the watchful eye of Shane Bond, Arjun Tendulkar, Cameron Green and other MI pacers nail the yorker drill

Five-time IPL champions, Mumbai Indians didn’t get off to a good start in the 16th edition of the league as they lost the opening game to RCB eight wickets this Sunday.
Defending 172, the visitors were taken out of the equation the home team’s openers, Faf du Plessis (73) and Virat Kohli (82) as Bangalore wrapped up the chase with 20 deliveries left to play.
The MI pacers were taken to the cleaners from the word go, with even star feature Jofra Archer being thrashed for 33 runs in his four overs quota, while the likes of Cameron Green, Arshad Khan and Jason Behrendorff leaked runs at an economy rate above 12 an over. In the buildup to their second game, the pace unit of Mumbai went hard about their business with bowling coach Shane Bond orchestrating a yorker drill, placing a pair of shoes to mark the spot where his bowlers are suppose to land their deliveries.

Mumbai, who won a fifth IPL title in 2020, haven’t been able to reach the playoffs over the last couple of seasons and will be facing Chennai Super Kings in their second game of the season, at home on Saturday, April 8.
Chennai on the other hand, also started off with a defeat in IPL 2023, as Gujarat Titans won the opener five wickets. The yellow army however, got their first points in the second game against Lucknow Super Giants as they won 12 runs in their first home game of the season.
