State moving towards becoming ‘corona-mukt’, positivity rate below 3%, new cases less than 2K

BHOPAL: The positivity rate has come down below 3 per cent; registering 2.8 per cent on Thursday. Besides, Madhya Pradesh reported 1,977 new cases, below the 2,000 mark.

As per World Health Organisation (WHO), if any state has below 3 per cent positivity rate, it shows that corona cases are under control.

Active cases continued to reduce and now it has dropped to 38,327 in the state. The total infection tally went to 7,73,855 and toll to 7,828. Around 69,606 samples were sent for testing and 1,520 samples were rejected at the time of testing.

Some districts reported very few cases. Khandwa and Burhanpur reported just two cases each and their active cases stood at 65 and 60 respectively.

Alirajpur reported 4 new corona cases with 41 active cases while Bhind, Agar-Malwa, Dindori, Chhindwara reported 5 corona cases each and their total cases are 114, 245, 199 and 143 respectively.

Niwari, Harda and Shajapur reported 6 corona cases each with active cases at 97,154 and 551 respectively. Singrauli reported 7 corona cases with 622 active cases.

Umaria, Sheopur, Barwani, Narsingpur reported 8 corona case each while their active cases are 514, 220, 311 and 228 respectively.

Guna, Jhabua, Dewas reported 9 corona cases each with 298, 82 and 417 active cases, respectively. Datia and Katni reported 10 corona cases each with 215 and 253 active cases respectively.

Major cities like Indore reported 577 corona case and its tally went to 1,47,922 and toll to 1,327. Bhopal reported 409 cases and its tally went to 1,19,650. Indore active cases reduced to 7162 and Bhopal active cases reduced to 7898. Jabalpur and Gwalior reported 99 and 51 corona cases respectively and their active cases are 1519 and 1,722 respectively.
