Bangladesh have announced their 16-member squad for the upcoming two Test-match series against India. Najmul Shanto will lead the Tigers, fresh from their horic series victory in Pakan.
India’s home season will open with the first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai on September 19, followed the second match in Kanpur from September 27.
The hosts have announced their squad for the first Test, with senior stars Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli headlining the side. India are currently atop the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle standings with Bangladesh jumping up to the fourth spot after their wins in Pakan.
Bangladesh have only made one change to their squad for the Pakan tour, with Jaker Ali taking the spot of injured pacer Shoriful Islam. The Tigers recorded their first-ever series win in Pakan, drubbing Pakan 2-0 in Rawalpindi last month.
India hosted Bangladesh previously during the 2019-20 season where they beat the visitors 2-0 in the Test series.
The forthcoming Test series will also be followed three T20Is in Gwalior, Delhi and Hyderabad.
