Bhopal: Pujaris to get three times honorarium, says CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan
CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday announced that pujaris will now get three times of their honorarium. CM added that Pujaries who are having low income will be given the benefits of Sambal yojana. Other measures declared include: Pujaris of the temples which have land holdings upto 10 acres will be free to utilise the amount raised, but for the temples which have more than 10 acres of land- bidding will be done in the presence of the collector representatives.
Health check-up of the Pujaries will be done twice a year. Pujaris who do not have their own house will be covered under PM Awas Yojana. The orders of the decisions were released on the day by the government. Notably, on Wednesday 105 sadhu saint and pujaries were arrested by the police and were released on bail. They were demanding hike in honorarium and also to remove the compulsion of the district collector monitoring into the temple affairs. Earlier the minister of state rank Computer Baba had resigned from the post in the protest to press the demands.
The action of the police anguished the community members as well as the sadhu, saint and pujaries. A meeting was held at the CM house with the representatives of the temple pujaries association and Bharamin samaj. Along with the other members the principal secretary Ashok Barnwal, principal secretary SK Mishra and others were also present.
