E-tendering case: MP drict court acquits all accused

A drict court in Bhopal on Wednesday acquitted all the accused of e-tendering scam, which is being probed the Economic Offence Wing (EOW). Special judge Sandeep Kumar Shrivastava acquitted all the accused as the EOW failed to prove the charges against them before court, defence lawyer Prashant Harne said. The then OSD of Madhya Pradesh Electronic Development Corporation, Nand Kishore Brahme, Osmo IT Solutions director Varun Chaturvedi, Vinay Chowdhary, Sumit Gowalkar, Antares company director Manohar MN and Bhopal-based businessman Manish Khare were acquitted. All of them appeared in the drict court on Wednesday. The EOW had presented a challan against them. Also Read: In MP e-tendering ‘scam’, probe finds evidence of tampering only 3 tenders: EOW Harne said, “The court accepted that demo tenders was formed but EOW failed to prove that it was done these people.” EOW superintendent of police Rajesh Mishra refused to comment on the matter and said they are yet to receive the court order. The e-tendering scam was exposed in 2018 then MP State Electronics Development Corporation officer Manish Rastogi after he saw an error of tampering in the e-tender. After this, the government cancelled the tenders and handed over the probe to EOW. EOW regered an FIR of the case in April 2019.
