Bigg Boss 17’s Ayesha Khan shares why she doesn’t approve of skincare remedies: ‘Sab karke dekh liya’ | Lifestyle News

Skincare issues are not limited to just you and me. They are universal, including for Bigg Boss 17‘s Ayesha Khan, who recently opened up about disapproving of skincare remedies. “I feel I have tried everything. Sab karke dekh liya. It is only because of that my skin became worse. So, personally, I don’t believe in all of it,” she said.
Adding, she told Pinkvilla, “Especially Multani mitti doesn’t suit my skin at all. I thought my skin will glow but I ended up with a lot of acne. I have had acne issues for a long time. The only thing that helped me was consulting a dermatolog. So, do that. Don’t try different things. Visit a doctor and take a consultation. Simple.”
Taking a cue from her admission, let’s understand how the popular Multani mitti or Fuller’s Earth remedy may not work for everyone.

Multani mitti is known to help cleanse, exfoliate, and nourish the skin. However, its use is not suitable for everyone, said Dr Jatin Mittal, co-founder cosmetolog and skin expert from Abhivrit Aesthetics.
According to Dr Mittal, the same absorbent properties that make Multani mitti beneficial for oily skin can be detrimental to dry or sensitive skin types. “It can strip the skin of its natural oils, leading to dryness, irritation, and exacerbation of exing skin conditions like eczema or rosacea. For these skin types, using Multani mitti can cause more harm than good, potentially resulting in redness, acne, flakiness, and a compromised skin barrier,” said Dr Mittal.

Dr Mittal advised that individuals with combination skin should use Multani mitti selectively, such as only on the oily parts of the face, like the T-zone, and avoid dry areas.
Since its suitability varies depending on skin type, a dermatolog can better advise and guide based on the skin’s specific needs.Story continues below this ad
“Consulting with a skincare professional can help tailor its use effectively, ensuring that it enhances rather than harms your skin’s health,” said Dr Mittal.
