Gauthan Outreach Drive Inspection Begins

State government launched Gauthan Reach drive to make it more efficient and profitable.Senior government officers will review all the activities being undertaken and give suggestions.CG Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain appreciated the work of women self-help groups.

Raipur: Chhattisgarh government officials inspect ‘Gauthans’ across the state from April 7th to streamline the functioning of the cow shelters where rural economic activities such as the production of vermicompost are carried out women self-help groups. Under the ‘Gauthan Reach Program’, officers have been directed to visit all the Gauthans and take stock of the activities and necessary initiatives for smooth functioning.

Chief secretary Amitabh Jain visited a Gothan in Baloda Bazar drict on Wednesday to monitor the situation there. After discussions with the villagers and members of self-help groups, Jain said Gauthans should be well built and people should get enough benefits from it. He also appreciated the working women in the Puraina-Khapri Gauthan and stated that these women are not only earning but also investing it to further increase the production of their work.

Under the campaign run the state government the officials will visit Gauthans and give necessary guidance to strengthen its system. Jain said they reached Gauthan a day earlier at the beginning of the campaign. During the visit, the Collector of Baloda Bazar drict Doman Singh was also present. Earlier, he inspected the various activities being undertaken Gauthans. During interaction with women’s self-help groups, he sought details of the arrangements for procurement of cow dung and other activities. He also checked the quality of vermicompost prepared at the Gauthan.
