Bob Deol says his mother Prakash Kaur always stood dad Dharmendra: ‘My wife has been my pillar during good, bad times’ | Bollywood News

Actor Bob Deol has often opened up about his relationship with his father, Bollywood icon Dharmendra. In a recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, he revealed that his upbringing his dad and mother Prakash Kaur made him what he is today. He also credited his wife Tanya Deol for supporting him. Bob further shared that despite hardships and personal struggles, his Dharmendra lived a satisfying life.
When asked who among the father-son trio had lived their life to the fullest, Bob replied, “I think my dad. He has lived the way he wanted to. I think the Frank Sinatra song ‘I did it my way’ really suits him. It’s like him, you know.”
Even as an 89-year-old, the veteran actor continues to exude his charm to the audience, and fans still crowd outside his house with posters. Talking about the admiration, he said, “It’s just the way my dad has been. From the word go, when he started his work and entered the industry, he has never met people as a star meets somebody. He always met them as a human being. He is connected with them. He has done so much for so many people. He has been very genuine about it from the heart. I think that’s the reason why love for the Deols has exed to date. It’s all thanks to him.”

“I have seen my dad surrounded people who made a bubble around him, as if he were something special. But that’s the one thing I learnt from my dad; he never got carried away with what people made him feel about himself. He always stayed grounded and true to himself,” the actor added.
Bob credited his and his brother’s similar upbringing to both Dharmendra and their mother Prakash Kaur. “It’s not just my dad’s contribution. It’s my mother, grandmother, and after I got married, it’s been my wife. She has really been there and stood right next to me through good and bad times. It’s just how my mother stood my dad. My biggest strength is my wife Tanya. She has believed in me and always told me that I am special,” he expressed.
On the professional front, Bob Deol was last seen in the Telugu action drama Daaku Maharaaj. He has several upcoming projects in the pipeline, including the YRF Spy Universe film Alpha, the Tamil political action drama Jana Nayagan, and a comedy thriller with Priyadarshan.
