4 injured after stabbing outside UK synagogue, suspect shot | World News

A man was shot Police in Manchester, London on Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a worshipper outside a synagogue and driving a car at public.

Greater Manchester Police said they were called shortly after 9:30 am (local time) to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall. A caller reported seeing a man stab someone and drive towards people in the area, a report AP reported.

Four people have been injured car and were being treated for injuries.

Minutes later, firearms officers opened fire. “One man has been shot, believed to be the offender,” police said in a statement on X.

Andy Burnham, mayor of Greater Manchester, told BBC Radio that “the immediate danger appears to be over.”

The attack took place as the Jewish community marked Yom Kippur, the holiest day in the Jewish calendar.
