Watch: Virat Kohli gets the best fielder award from India’s fielding coach T Dilip | Cricket-world-cup News

It was Virat Kohli set the tone for India against Australia in their tournament opener plucking an excellent catch at the first slip to Mitchell Marsh in third over of the game.
Thereafter, he played a stunning knock of 85 and forged a 165-run stand for the fourth wicket with Kl Rahul to help India win the match because at one stage India were reeling at 2 for 3.

The former India captain was given the as best fielder award the fielding coach T Dilip. Kohli took two catches, one of Marsh off the bowling of Jasprit Bumrah, while diving to his left.

The second catch was off Adam Zampa off Hardik Pandya’s bowling.
Apart from Kohli, Shreyas Iyer also took two excellent catches. He ran forward before diving to full length to take the catch of Pat Cummins and then took a running catch to end Mitchell Starc’s cameo.

“A bit of change with the way we do things. Dilip will hand out the best fielder medal,” Team India head coach Rahul Dravid said in a video posted the BCCI.
“At last we got this,” says Dilip showing the medal to everyone.

Virat Kohli jogs in with a big smile on his face and asks Dilip to put the medal on his neck. He then kissed it and can be seen biting the medal in the last frame of the video.
India defeated Australia six wickets in their first match and now they will tavel to Delhi to face Afghanan at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday.
