Brendon Taylor believes he can still make ‘impact’ after three and half years ban | Cricket News

Zimbabwe player Brendon Taylor has been banned for three and half years for breaching the ICC code of conduct for corruption. However, the batter believes that he can make a comeback once his ban ends in July later this year and would even say he is hopeful to play in the 2027 ODI World Cup in South Africa, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
“I still want to play and I believe I could make an impact as a player,” Taylor told ESPNcricinfo “I look at where I’m at physically and mentally and if I didn’t feel I could do it, I wouldn’t bother. Givemore has really supported me on this. He sort of shut down the coaching role for now and said, ‘Can you play and try to push yourself up until the 2027 World Cup?’ Granted I’ll be 41 then but with sobriety, I’m living my truest form.”
Despite being out of action Taylor would continue to play at St Johns. “They’ve got some great grass nets and I spend a lot of time in the indoor high-performance centre there. I get in there nice and early, and I come back in the afternoon and do it all again and push myself,” he said.

Taylor has played in 34 Tests has scored 2320 runs, in 205 ODIs made 6684 runs and in 45 T20Is made 934 runs.
